God then told Elijah, “Hide out at the Kerith Ravine on the other side of the Jordan River.
You can drink fresh water from the brook; I’ve ordered the ravens to feed you.”
And sure enough, ravens brought him his meals, both breakfast and supper.

Breaking News - Wild Birds Feed Medford Woman!

Well, almost!

“Wild Birds Unlimited” in Danvers kindly provides seed for the church bird feeder at halfprice. Chatting to the staff recently, I was asked if there was a someone in need of a turkey
for Thanksgiving. Rev. Wendy, who runs a food programme at Shiloh Baptist, knew just the
right family – a grandmother, her son, and granddaughter.

Kathy (Bird Woman of Danvers) generously offered to provide the whole meal and so we
planned out the feast ferrying. None of us are lucky enough to have wings, but we do have
flexible fingers. Text messages flew between Kathy and Wendy and me. The who, the what,
the where, and the when were sorted.

Kathy dropped off the groceries at my house; I got them to CBC; Wendy took them to the family.
Text by text, a meal was provided.
Shuttle by shuttle, love was served.
THIS is how miracles happen!

Our Community Sharers

CBC is home to a number of community activities including the Girl Scouts’, a Children’s Art Program, and Adult Recovery Groups.

Our Community Cupboard

Since 2017, we have maintained a “micro-pantry” offering food items, personal care products and, seasonally, school supplies and small gift items for children.

More recently, we have created a second “pantry” in the lobby.

Available when the church is open, it is especially appreciated by group members who are on site in the evening or during inclement weather.

Our Community Garden

The Community Peace Garden was created in the aftermath of the 2013 Marathon Bombing. It was planted as a tribute to Medford’s Krystle Campbell, to the other victims of the attack, and to all those who helped Boston and the Marathon community find healing.
